The Sargent Chamber of Commerce will be awarding two $500.00 scholarships



Scholarship 1 (for business majors)

Eligibility: Student must be Sargent alumni or a senior going to graduate this spring and major in an undergraduate business program at a 2- or 4-year college, including agribusiness majors. Applicants must have maintained a cumulative 2.0 GPA.

Requirements: Complete the attached Sargent Chamber of Commerce scholarship application. In addition to the application, a student must write a one-page essay telling the Chambers scholarship committee about your intentions of pursuing a business degree (i.e. what part of business you intend to pursue such as management, account, etc.) and why. Also, include any experience you already have in business. Students must include a copy of their transcript and one letter of recommendation with the application. Application and essay must be typed.

Scholarship 2

Eligibility: Student must be Sargent alumni or a senior going to graduate this spring and planning to continue their education after high school. They must also have a 2.0 GPA.

Requirements: Complete the attached Sargent Chamber of Commerce scholarship application. In addition to the application, the student must write a one-page essay telling the Chamber scholarship committee about your chosen field of study and why the field interests you. Students must include a copy of their transcript and one letter of recommendation with the application. Application and essay must be typed.

Awards: The scholarships will be given in the spring semester upon receiving the student’s transcripts from the fall semester. Besides the recipients of the scholarships, the Chamber will also choose an alternate in the event the recipient does not complete the requirements. This would be the case if the recipient changes majors (in the case of the business scholarship) or fails to re-enroll. All scholarship recipients must be enrolled as a full-time student. A student may be awarded the Chamber Scholarship a maximum of 2 times.
