Recreation and adventure have become the jewels of any tourism crown. Whether a small village or large city it is recreation and adventure that is used most and most effective when it comes to attracting visitors. Sargent has many recreation activities to choose from. We have a wonderful park with shaded trees, a stage in the middle of the park, and covered picnic tables. Our town park is such a joy to our youth and out of town visiters. We have a lighted tennis court, basketball court, sand volleyball pit, a baseball field that hosts many games in the summer days and nights.
We have two buildings in Sargent, NE, the Palladium and Sargent Community Center that provide stages, large dance hall, meeting rooms, bathrooms, and kitchens to host your dinner/theatre show, weddings, dances, group meetings, charity events, auctions, parties, and much more!
A new recreational facility opened this summer of 2009 Sandhills Motorsport Park -SMXP. They offer ATV / MX tracks along with many other recreational activities throughout the year. Most of their riders & fans come from Omaha, Lincoln, Hastings, Kearney, Broken Bow, O'neal, and many other smaller towns of Nebraska.
Sargent, Nebraska Golden Acres RV park has bathrooms, water & electrical hook-ups, and a convenient sewer dump. It is a great place to camp or set-up your RV while enjoying the recreational activities in Sargent. Fishing and hunting go hand and hand for the avid outdoors man. Hilltop Hunting Lodge and Comstock Hunting Lodge in Sargent have large acres for hunting. They offer guided hunts for turkey, deer, pheasant, and quail.They also provide lodging for over night visitors for cheap rates. Sargent also has lodging in town...Linden Tree House & this summer a bed & breakfast has opened up called the Rock Soup Inn.
With Calumus Lake near by, Middle Loup River, tanking down the river, kayaking, biking, riding your recreational vehicle in a safe environment, fishing, hunting or just enjoying the trails and scenery...
